Diana and Kevin Lucero are the proud owners of this unique magical rental property. Open and designed for families and friends to gather together to enjoy special occasions, create new memories, take a step back in time, and relax in a luxury Scottish stone manor.
This charming manor can accommodate several overnight guests - five large bedrooms and over-sized entertainment areas.
We have dedicated our love, time, energy, and finances to make this home a beautiful, comfortable place to make memories.
This restoration was designed keeping in mind the period of 1901-1930. I am a professional interior designer. I love updating and creating livable functional designs. I love historical homes and keeping each property true to its design period.
“Morning Star Manor” Is our home in Janesville WI.
Originally “The Archie Reid House” an intriguing unique Richardsonian Romanesque - Scottish Style Stone Manor is located on the top of Courthouse Hill.
It is registered on United States National Historical Homes and the Wisconsin Register of Historical places.
We fell in love with restoring this 10 room mansion with 3.5 baths. It took many professionals and our village of wonderful family and friends to help restore it back to its original splendor.
We added a complete laundry, exercise room, and a fun Speakeasy - Whiskey & Wine lounge/cellar on the lowest level.
My story - Interior Designer/Art Degree:
I lived on Saint Lawrence Avenue during 1984-86 in my early 20s while attending UW-Whitewater for my art/business degree.
My main interests were - Art, Design, History, and Literature . After college, I left Janesville to pursue my 30 year interior design career in Las Vegas, NV where I met my husband, Kevin. Kevin grew up in the fantastic historical town of Bisbee, AZ.
After many yearly visits back to my home town, we noticed the manor was in such disrepair that the city of Janesville wanted to demolish it. The owner of 27 years had let it fall into ruins.
We began our persistent journey to obtain “The Archie Reid House” from 2011- 2017. The owner had it listed on Zillow and had a white board sign “for sale by owner” posted in the yard.
After many emails and phone calls we failed to get inside to evaluate the total damages. We hired a local Realtor who finally convinced the owner to allow us into the home. The eccentric owner agreed to sell the stone manor after we assured him of our credentials. He agreed that we were the right people to restore it back to its original splendor.
Now we are ready to share our “Morning Star Manor” with other historical enthusiast and families who want to create magical memories.
